FAQ

Is your micro-pigmentation procedure permanent?
Yes.

Is your micro-pigmentation procedure considered a tattoo?
No, it is not. Everything from the machine, needle and ink are all different than those used to produce standard tattoos.

Then why are we called VITILIGO TATTOO?
This has been done for the understanding of people who may get intimidated assuming it’s a laser, skin graft and /or surgical procedure. it is not.

Can a tattoo artist perform this same procedure?
No. A micro-pigmentation specialist is trained differently and uses different tools and techniques than a tattoo artist. Since a tattoo artist uses larger needles and penetrates the skin deeper with ink that has blue or green dyes in it you can end up with larger and unnatural dots that appear to be blue or green. Getting the micro-pigmentation procedure done by a tattoo artist should never be considered as an option.

Is your micro-pigmentation procedure considered a medical procedure?
No, the micro-pigmentation procedure is not medically defined.

Is your micro-pigmentation procedure considered safe?
Yes, our micro-pigmentation procedure is safe. We use sterile equipment and a brand new needle that is opened in the presence of the client before each treatment has begun, and then disposed of at the end of the treatment. Our stations are sterilized before and after each session, and we meet health and safety guidelines.

Is your micro-pigmentation procedure painful?
Pain levels are subjective. They vary from one person to the next. Most people compare the micro-pigmentation procedure to the sensation of being pinched. Immediately following cessation of the procedure there is no lasting pain. There is no use of anesthesia for this type of procedure.

Do I need to continue to use a concealer after the micro-pigmentation procedure?
The micro-pigmentation procedure essentially acts as a permanent concealer, eliminating the need to apply your own product. You will no longer need to use a messy concealer that tends to drip if you jump in a pool, get caught in the rain, or break a sweat.

Does the micro-pigmentation procedure fade over time?
The micro-pigmentation procedure will produce results that generally last up to 15-20 years.

Does your micro-pigmentation procedure leave blotches that run together over time?
No. Blotching, or migration of ink, only occurs with standard tattoo practices because of the use of larger needles that penetrate deeper into the skin, and the type of ink utilized. The micro-pigmentation procedure follows a different process altogether, using smaller and finer needles and organic ink, which doesn’t have the capability of migrating.

Can I try out the micro-pigmentation procedure on a small test area before I fully commit?
Yes. We are able to apply our micro-pigmentation procedure to small scarred areas or places on the scalp where hair loss is prevalent so that you can see the effectiveness of the treatment.

How will I look immediately after the micro-pigmentation procedure?
Some people may experience redness. The darker your skin tone the less apparent the redness is. For some, the redness can disappear after a few hours, one day, or can last up to three days. As for the dots, they will appear a bit larger for the first few days until the pores have closed up, then they will shrink giving it a more natural appearance.

Is your micro-pigmentation procedure completed in one visit?
No. It can take 2-3 sessions depending on the severity of your. Splitting up the treatment allows for any preferred changes to be made in the following session.

What makes us different from others companies offering a similar service?
We are a team of expert clinicians with an artistic eye specializing in micro-pigmentation. Many make-up artists, tattoo artists and even doctors claim to be able to perform this labor but, in fact, they have not had extensive training in the field of SMP, nor do they use the same kind of equipment required to perform this procedure.
